Superyacht captain Nigel Marrison has 20 years’ maritime experience and is a huge supporter of ocean preservation. He was intrigued to test our low emission SAY 29. Read about his sensational testimonial explaining the advantages of carbon manufactured boats:
“As a super yacht captain, I’ve experienced some impressive craft. And when James told me ‘prepared to be wow’d’, I must admit I wasn’t 100% convinced. But when I got closer to the SAY 29 at berth I was very impressed with the lines and aesthetics of the hull. She looked very sleek, modern and contemporary. A style which is difficult to get right without going over the top. SAY design has achieved the ultimate balance. Step on board, and she feels featherweight yet stable. The carbon fibre construction looks and feels solid, luxury and unique. Coupled with the fabrics, she presents beautifully. As an advocate of sustainability in the yachting industry ultra low emission flicks my switch, and James was more than happy to gloat the incredible consumption figures on our sea trial. The design of the hull is such that the SAY 29 is a very dry boat, I experienced no spray whatsoever during our (speedy) sea trial, the boat gliding whilst cornering and sliced through what waves there were (calm day). Then we come to the speed. Well this is where the WOW factor really impressed me. James will give you the figures. But it’s like when you go to Bose and you ask ‘How many Watts is the system?’, and they say, we don’t sell watts we sell sound! The same applies to SAY. Statistics become reality. Hold on, and I mean hold on, because the acceleration put’s your head into the beautiful leather headrest strategically positioned to catch the complacent passenger!! Admittedly, I was one of them. Equally as such I found the boat to be very comfortable at lower speeds. I would recommend this boat without a doubt. Looks, performance, emissions, comfort, user friendly……I could go on, but for that you need to sea trial this pioneer yourself. Also super excited to experience the 42 when it arrives in Ibiza soon!!! Watch this space, well done SAY Carbon! And may thanks to James for the opportunity to sea trial”
